XRP gets 26% share in Grayscale’s ‘next gen’ portfolio – No space for 비트코인
Grayscale has come up with ready-made 암호화폐 investment portfolios that financial advisors can use for their clients, but there is something unusual. The investment giant launched four different model portfolios, each with a different purpose.
In this, the “Digital Assets Core Plus portfolio” is designed as a broad, foundational 암호화폐 allocation and includes 비트코인 [BTC], 이더리움 [ETH], Solana [SOL], and Chainlink [LINK].
Meanwhile, ‘Digital Assets Leaders’ focuses on the five largest eligible 암호화폐 assets available through Grayscale’s single-asset products. Whereas “Digital Assets Next Gen” is designed to give investors exposure to 암호화폐 assets beyond 비트코인, including both established and emerging projects.
Finally, “Digital Assets Infrastructure” focuses on assets tied to protocols that support areas such as 스마트 컨트랙트 and 토큰화.
Now the catch here is that 리플’s XRP hasreceived a huge allocationin the Digital Assets Next Gen portfolio. As of the 31st of August, the portfolio had seven holdings, with Ethereumat 42. 34%, XRP at 26. 11%, and Solanaat 21. 09%.
비트코인, however, has been left out of this portfolio. Together, those three assets account for roughly 90% of the portfolio. Meanwhile, the remaining allocation is spread across Hyperliquid [HYPE], LINK, Avalanche [AVAX], and Sui [SUI].
Interestingly, Grayscale has also capped each asset to not go beyond 40% in a model. However, the portfolios are subject to rebalancing every quarter, wherein Grayscale can change the allocations as 시가총액 and the eligible asset universe change.
This comes after Grayscalefiled an amendmentthat could move its Litecoin Trust closer to an ETF structure.
Meanwhile, on the price front, XRPwas 거래 at $1. 40 at the time of reporting after a hike of almost 40% in the past month. Compared to this altcoin, 비트코인 was changing hands at $76, 846. 10 at press time after a hike of 22. 1% in the past month.
Whereas its 비트코인 dominance was testing resistance at 59. 27%. This means 비트코인’s share of the total 암호화폐 market was approaching a level where it has historically struggled to move higher.
So, now if dominance breaks above this level, 비트코인 could continue outperforming altcoins, while a rejection could signal capital rotating toward altcoins such as XRP, Solana, and 이더리움.
But with the altcoin season index sitting at 36 at press time, it is confirmed that 비트코인 is here to rule for now.
